We Are Fundraising! Please Contribute.

I'm pleased to update this blog with a call to action to restore James Franklin Senior's grave. For those who have been looking for a way to help for ... years .... we finally have a plan thanks to Cousin Sandra Long of Gallatin. We have a proposal to conduct conservation improvements with DAN S. ALLEN & ASSOCIATES, Consulting Archaeologists, Historians, and Preservationists and we are working with the developer to clear the lot and construct a fence. All estimates compiled for this phase of work total $3500.

The Colonel Jethro Sumner Chapter of the DAR has kindly agreed to sponsor the restoration by providing us with a depository for our fundraising. Any amount donated can help us achieve our goal.

Download the donation form with all needed information.

If you have any helpful comments or other donation resources to help us reach our goal, please comment here. Or find us on Facebook. More details to come on a clean-up date to put in some sweat equity to help defer the cost of brush removal. I will also keep you updated on the archaeologists progress. Sure would be nice to blog on a dedication ceremony in the near future!

Thank you to everyone who has inspired good advice and found connections to make this happen in order to transform this site for Sumner County history, the Franklin family and the residents of Saundersville Station & Franklin Reserve.
